My Daily Base Makeup Routine

My Makeup Routine
This will be my first makeup related blog post. As you can see from the title, I will be talking about my makeup routine. Before I start, I will talk about my skin type and what kind of makeup suits me better. Everybody has different skin type and will have to use different kind of products to accommodate to their own skin type.

I have oily/combination skin, my face will get super oily at the end of the day. Especially on areas such as my nose and forehead. Other than having oily skin, I do have problems with large pores on areas such as my cheeks and nose :( I have a history of having Eczema on my face when I was younger, which could have caused my large pores. Nevertheless, we can always tackle large pore problems with pore concealer/refiner! :)

Now, lets go into the products I use :)

I tend to alternate between BB cream and Foundation, depending on how heavy I want the coverage to be.

To begin with, I use TONYMOLY Cats Wink Shiny Skin Base with SPF 15.
You guys must be thinking why use a green primer? The green colour looks intimidating isn't it?
Well, if we have a lot of redness on the skin, ache blemishes, or even having red skin from sunburn, the green is going to help cancel that out.
Green is the opposite of Red.
So if we have red skin, we use green to cancel it out and our skin will look grayish? That's why, when we put our foundation on, it will stay looking pretty much like normal foundation colour instead having the redness on your skin to stand out.

Sorry about the lighting, it looks washed out. In actual fact, it looks green in person.

After blending it out :)
It also helps to brighten your skin :)

Next! As you guys have already read, I have large pore issues, therefore, pore concealer is a MUST have in my makeup routine. These are the two pore concealer that I am using.

Z-PORE from GoodSkin Labs

Skin Lingerie PoreCover from Majolica Majorica

I just dab it on areas with large pores.

Also, did I also mention that I have dark circles that will never go away? That is why I need to have a good concealer that can help to cover up those awful looking dark circles that I have.

Here, I am using the saem cover perfection concealer

The sponge tip applicator inside

I have been loving this concealer, it gives you great coverage and it is easy to blend. A little goes a long way!
What I will do is to dab some of the concealer under my eyes and on areas that I want to cover such as pimples or scars.
Also, if you want to have natural looking skin, skip the BB cream/foundation step and just use concealer to conceal your imperfections on your face and set it with powder and you are good to go :)

The next two products are my two current favourite products that I have been using.
I have oily skin,so I tend to get BB cream/foundation that gives me a matte finish.
It is key get that texture and formulation that will suit your own skin.
So the first product I am going to talk about is the Face2Change BB Cream, for someone who does not want a lot of coverage, it can build towards medium, but definitely got that breathable airy light finish. It creates more of a veil to like a matte veil over the skin, but definitely corrects any minor imperfections. It has got SPF 15 in it. It gives you a nice matte finish.

I use BB cream most frequently as compared to using foundation. I prefer BB cream because it feels lighter on the skin.

Face2Change Liquid Roller BB Cream SPF 15

Sponge roller inside for easier application

The second product, is Revlon Colorstay for combination/oily skin. It does come in another formula for dry/normal so don't get them mixed up because they are very different. This is a medium to full coverage foundation if you want that kind of really perfected look to the skin. I would suggest adding a little bit of time and really blending it in because it sets very quickly once it sets, it has a very long lasting finish. However, it is quite tricky to remove, because it is so long lasting, you will need a good makeup remover to get it all off at the end of the day. The only down side of this product that I dislike about is the packaging. It does not have a pump, it is just a pouring bottle, it's either you get too much or too little product out from the bottle. But apart from that, it is a really really good foundation for oily skin.
It is a foundation therefore, it does feel slightly heavier on the skin as compared to using a BB cream.

To set everything, I use my all time favourite Maybelline Dream Matter power in Beige Medium. As you can see, I have already hit pan. This is the only power that really helps control the oil on my face and it does not break me out.
It also looks natural on the skin and does not look cakey on the face.

So, that is it for my daily makeup base routine!
I hope this blog post will help those who are struggling with the similar skin issue :)
Thanks for reading! <3
